A Sparkling Start to the Holiday Season

Hi, everyone! Happy December. How was your holiday weekend? Did you have a lovely Thanksgiving? Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house?

We started the season off with a little pop-fizz-clink by providing the venue for a beloved tradition. Our friends Bob and Christina have hosted a champagne tasting party for the past 18 years (read about it here), but they moved to California last summer. Rather than let the bubble pop on this party, we offered up our home to them for the festivities...

What a rosy start to the holidays - the kind of night that keeps sparkling in your memory...

..even after the last cork has popped, everyone has gone home and the shoes come off...

The festivities left me a little tired, but I'll be back on Wednesday with the how-to on the rose topiaries and a few other party details.

Have a beautiful Monday, all. Here's to the holidays! XOXO

  1. Oh Jeanne,
No wonder I love you so much! I really love Champagne and how just a glass can remind us to "celebrate" and embrace the rosy side of life. Such a pretty party!
Love your rosy topiaries, those napkins and your pretty shoes too!

  2. Oh, the shoes!!! I know I should be commenting on the Champagne, on the decoration, or the finger food, that looks delicious, but those shoes... I don't wear high heels anymore, due to arthritis, but those are the loveliest shoes. I want a pair, even if it's only to look at them.

  3. Good morning Jeanne!!! I LOVE THIS. I love DIFFERENT takes on holiday décor and festivities, and this is the perfect one. Roses? Absolutely! Pink bubbles? But of course....I have a bottle in my kitchen that I'm reserving for a special evening during my next TWO WEEK vacation this month. Love the shoes, the clink-clink in pink and your festive mood.

Back on Wednesday, then!!! Hugs, Anita

  4. Oh so lovely, all of it! The perfect antidote to my gray Monday morning. But I can't believe that another year has already gone by since the last champagne tasting...and as for those shoes, well, as I wrote on ig, "that's my girl!" :)

  12. What a wonderful tradition, one that MUST be kept alive, absolutely.
And, what gorgeous pics. Try "Sofia" the Frances Ford Coppala champagne, it comes in pink cellophane wrappers that I adore. Happy Holidays, Jeanne

  14. Jeanne,
This party looks incredible and I SO wish I could have been there. I love that you helped your friends continue their 18-year tradition (I can only dream of an enduring tradition like that...actually, I might just have to start an East Coast branch of the Champagne party!). Adore the centerpiece using the champagne bucket (will have to borrow that idea) and all the pink roses. Also love the pink napkins...kind of need those, too! Cheers to a wonderful holiday season....what a way to kick things off.

    xoxo Elizabeth
