Thanksgiving Color Inspiraton: Cool, Soft Shades as Autumn Fades

Happy Friday, everyone. How was the week? We were blessed with some gorgeous but chilly sun-shiny days. And although the warm, bright colors of fall and harvest time are beautiful, with this colder weather, cooler tones are starting to appeal.

At our house, the pumpkins stick around until Thanksgiving passes, but I always like to switch things up a bit when Halloween transitions to November. Last year, gold leaf gave a sparkle to shades of orange that were starting to look old. This time, I'm loving cool slate grays and the softest ballet slipper pinks.

They would look lovely on a Thanksgiving table, don't you think? Perfect with blue and white china or even antique gold and an Imari pattern.

What colors do you think set the perfect tone this time of year?

Have a beautiful weekend! XOXO

  3. SO gorgeous, I LOVE this palette, absolutely stunning. I would want to leave it around all year long :) I am not a huge fan of dark rusts and deep colors so this is the best of all worlds! Beautiful Jeanne....have a lovely weekend.

  4. Oh Jeanne, I think I agree with you 100% on the color tones for the season! This year I stuck with my white pumpkins, but next year I have to use some of these slate gray pumpkins AND I love the idea of the ballerina pink hues to accompany these beauties! AND I spy your dining room chairs; we have the same ones! Except ours are the gray velveteen...

Beautiful display and enjoy as the countdown to the holidays begins! Anita

  8. I love the color of the dahlias and the dusty miller with it makes it the ideal subtle fall colors. Such a pretty table set up.
    Enjoy your weekend.

  11. So pretty Jeanne! I too enjoy a softer more neutral palette when it comes to my home. The grays are beautiful and look stunning along with the pinks and blues. Cinderella pumpkins are my favorite and I like that they are available in such a large variety of shapes and colors. Have a nice weekend and stay warm.
