Blue And White For A Blogger's Lunch

One of the best things about blogging is connecting with like-minded people from around the world - and on the opposite coast. When the lovely Sandy of You May Be Wandering got in touch with an invitation to a Blogger's Lunch that she and Tina from The Enchanted Home were planning in Connecticut, I was ready to hop on a plane. But time commitments in Seattle made that impossible and I haven't quite figured yet out how to be in two places at once. So instead, I settled for sending some little gifts that would allow me to be there in spirit...

Some tags made from an illustration I had on file. Pretty shimmery jelly beans from candy store favorite The Confectionery. Blue and white flower seeds in pretty packaging. Some Caspari hankies. All tied up with a dotted ribbon for a bit of blue and white to pop onto a place setting:

Here they are at the luncheon with a few other goodies (photo courtesy of Tina from The Enchanted Home):

How fun to feel like I had a place at the table, even though I couldn't be there! Here's to all my blog friends who I would have loved to chat with in person.

Do you ever put together party favors for your guests? What are your favorite things to give?

Hope you have a lovely weekend full of plenty of great conversations and connections. XOXO

  1. Jeanne,
What a treat! I felt so very special to be included in that luncheon. Everything was simply lovely, from the company, to the party favor, place card, artfully arranged individual tea pot and the treat from Zhush! The only thing missing was YOU! Tina loved hearing about our luncheon in NY City, before you began your blog and left your career to pursue your passions! So proud of you and hope to travel to see you in the Fall!

  5. Everything about this post makes me smile from ear to ear...your party favors were definitely a huge success...I could feel your loving warmth just emanating from the box when I opened it. We had a fabulous time...the only thing that would have made it better would have been to have YOU there. Next time for sure!

I completely agree with Tina - you need to turn your artwork into a business!! You are SO talented! My daughter read your last post about the hydrangeas and asked if she could buy one of your watercolors.

Thank you again, my dear...and have a fabulous weekend! xoxo

PS...we need to talk about your IG picture of your event last night...Mike McCready played? Really? I hate to sound like a starstruck little girl, but OMG - I love him! The only thing better than that would have been if Eddie had played! :)

    1. Hi Sandy! I was so happy to pull together those treats and only wish I could have delivered them in person. The lunch looked so wonderful - how lovely to sit down and talk to some of my favorite people in blogland! Hope I can make it next time!!!

Thanks for all your kind words. I do indeed sell my artwork - working right now on a commission basis and prints, etc. are coming soon. The hydrangea painting is spoken for, but I can always recreate it!

Yes, Mike McCready! He is very involved in the Seattle community so often will turn up and play at events. He and the other Peal Jam guys are supporters of Stewardship Partners, who put on last night's Feat on the Farm event. He and Stone Gossard have both played in past years and who knows maybe Eddie someday ;-)

      Have a wonderful weekend! XOXO

  6. Jeanne, you were there in spirit and next time, we'll bring a tablet so we can Skype! Your little party favors were such a sweet treat and we can't wait to plant our seeds and see the flowers grow. The lunch was a wonderful way to connect with like-minded women and we missed you. Perhaps we can organize something the next time you're on the East Coast. Have a wonderful weekend!

  9. Jeanne,
We SO felt your presence at the luncheon!! It was your illustration that greeted us at the table and your name was on all our lips!!!! What a beautiful, thoughtful gift for all of us. It was truly so special!!!

I adore party favors and always have them at my dinner parties. I've done candles, flowers, candies, cds, books, key fobs...you name it!!! Always love to tie it into the table decor and personalize it if I can.

I know I keep talking about coming to Seattle....not idle chatter. Just need to figure it out! :)
    xoxo Elizabeth
