Cocktail Friday: The Rose Martini

Happy Friday, all! What's happening in your world? Here, the sun has been out and the roses are just spectacular, which is something to celebrate, wouldn't you say? To properly toast our lovely blooms, I've concocted a little cocktail. It's pink, not too sweet, with just a hint of rose...

A generous splash of Lillet Rosé and some gin, a drop of Sirop Rose from Épicerie de Provence (found at Watson Kennedy Fine Home), a hint of sweet red vermouth, with spicy rose sugar for the rim. (I'm a gin girl, but vodka would probably be equally yummy if you prefer.)

To make your own Rose Martini, roll the vermouth and splash of Sirop Rose around in a cockail shaker, fill with ice. Measure in Lillet and gin. Cap and shake vigorously (at least a dozen times) until very cold.

Strain the drink into a chilled glass (preferable something vintage and pretty) with a rim that's been dipped in spicy rose sugar. Garnish with a rose petal.

And have a rosy weekend! XOXO

Cheers to friday and a weekend garnished with rose petals. My roses have not blossomed yet - but will be soon and this drink will be the perfect compliment.

    1. Yes! Although the rosé is getting tough to track down, the white is everywhere. I had a Lillet martini on my first date with my husband and we served it at our wedding, so it always feels like something special when I drink it. Bon weekend to you, Pam! XOXO
