An Island Escape To Nantucket

And now here we are in June. Such a beautiful month! I can't think of a better way to start it off than a beach walk on Nantucket. For as lovely as in was to be jammed together at my brother-in-law's home in Maine, my favorite part of our New England jaunt was escaping to the island with Mr. H for a few romantic days of long strolls, shell collecting and sea grass...

Exploring by bike...

Reveling in all the details.

Time for a little shopping (yes! That dress came home with me and so did the necklace) ... Mr. H. did well, too.

And ending the afternoon down by the Boat Basin, watching sails unfurl and checking out the view of Brant Point, the perfect spot to picnic on giant sandwiches from Provisions.

Do you have any plans to escape this June? Hope it's a lovely start to the season! XOXO

  7. With the boys in school until late June, our getaway won't happen until August but your pictures make us feel as if we're already on vacation! We have fond memories of the boys on Children's Beach in Nantucket and sitting at the soda fountain at the pharmacy.

  8. Bonjour Jeanne. Long time no talk to... How are you? Just dandy, it would seem. What a fabulous trip (and your photos... just perfect!) I have always wanted to visit Nantucket. Now I REALLY want to go. Maybe next year. Things have been busy chez moi. Take care, Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  10. Jeanne,
Your photos are just incredible!! My East Coast friends often speak of Nantucket and many spend the month of August there. It remains just a dream, made even brighter from your post, as we always end up someplace else. I adore the dress and necklace you took home. Your color!!! I'm so happy that you were able to enjoy such a special get away! Yay to summer!!!
