Je Vois La Vie En Rose

Do you get color cravings? Every January without fail the urge for pink hits hard. An antidote from the tired holiday reds and greens? A desire for spring? For Valentine's candy? To coordinate with the cherry blossoms? Whatever the reason, there's a hunger for rosy hues until the last peonies vanish from the flower stand and suddenly aqua and blue take center stage. So it's been lovely to see so much glorious pink on the pages of interior mags, on the runways and (of course) in nature of late...

A little pink is just what springtime ordered... even if head to toe isn't your thing, it pairs beautifully with nudes and white, or is perfectly matched with faded denim to dial down the girly girl factor...

Even if like Maggie Prescott you "wouldn't be caught dead," a new pink lipstick or a bit of polish on your toes could be just the thing to lift the spirits. There's just something about wearing the color of a kiss, a blush, of a glass of rosé on a warm spring afternoon...

Everyone needs touch of la vie en rose now and then, don't you think?

  1. C'est vrai! Indeed, nothing like a little pink and then loads of green to go with. Years ago, I sewed the palest pink cotton suit and I loved wearing it. I felt so girly. I think I need to go out and get something pink after wearing so much black and grey. I do love pink with navy. In India, they say "pink" is their navy blue.

    1. Pink and green go perfectly together, Patricia! Like the magnolia tree outside my window which dances with pink blossoms and bright spring green leaves - would love to have that print on a dress. I can imagine you in your pretty pink suit!

    1. Tina "no control" is just the right way to describe the effect of pink flowers. I think that of all the items on the pink board, the one I may just have to buy is the sequined sweater. Would love to see all of it hanging in my closet!
Hope this week is beautiful, Tina! XOXO

    1. How lovely that your first peony opened, La Contessa! Our landscaping is still a torn up muddy mess, but the flowers I've been bringing home from the corner grocer are such a comfort. Glad you adore pink, too! I figured you would! XOXO

  6. You're so funny! I get cravings for pink year round!!! Got myself a cute pink coat, b/c I've come to realize that summer is a 2 month season and the rest of the year, I'm pretty cold. So, why not have a Spring coat?!

Love all your findings. I think I "need" that Marc Jacobs sweater and Alexander Wang jacket!!!

    Here's to all things pink!

  8. Such a delightfully pretty pink post, Jeanne, and yes, we crave pink all the time! And like Audrey, we believe in it, too. How about a pink garden party on our terrace when the weather warms? You're invited, of course!
