Happy Just About Spring!

The world is daffodilicious and I'm springtingling in anticipation of the change in season.

As Tolstoy wrote, "Spring is a time of plans and projects," and this morning I'm running around preparing for a proper celebration tomorrow (more on that later). So just a few things I love about this magical time of year:

Flowers blooming everywhere, longer days and lighter evenings, pastel hues, Easter egg hunts, morning birdsong, cherry blossom petals that float from the trees and land on the sidewalks like pink snow, fresh baby vegetables, trading boots for ballet flats, banishing black to the back of the closet, warmer temperatures, bunnies and lambs, the sweet scent in the air, green leaves and Girl Scout cookies....

What you would you add to this happy list?

Happy almost spring, friends! Hope you are enjoying every blooming moment.

  1. Love the list and would add those eager trips to my local nursery to get fresh flowers, flinging open my windows and putting all my patio furniture/pillows out even if its a little cool, just knowing we can venture outside again is such a wonderful feeling....cheers to spring!

    1. Tina, your pillows and patio furniture are so lovely! I'm not surprised at all that you can't wait to pull them out! Hope it's warm enough to sit outside and enjoy soon! XOXO

  2. Oooh what beautiful quotes and your list! I would add: the arrival of strawberries and asparagus in the markets, almond tree branches stacked in a vase, mimosa flowers, the sense of promise and my doggies having a extra "spring" in their step. :)

  3. your list is absolutely tantalizing! it's the ugliest kind of day here today, grey and raining over mountains of slushy snow, enough!
i would add watching the fresh shoots appearing in the garden and a warm breeze on my face and like tina, flinging open windows

    1. Debra, it was so gray and rainy when I ran out the door to work out this morning. But now I can see bits of blue behind the fast moving gray clouds. Hopefully we'll be able to open the windows and let spring in soon! XOXO

  4. Spring is a like climbing a staircase, one step at a time or one bud burgeoning to blossom. I look forward to seeing things come alive and all the colors of Easter. Can you imagine that one of my sons in college has a bunny rabbit? I think all the girls must love it too. Funny how creatures can capture our hearts.
I have lost track of all the girl scout cookies that will be coming soon. Time to start hitting the track early to prepare for trimming up for Spring fashions.

    1. Patricia, I think it's hilarious that your son has a pet bunny - must totally get the girls! The Girl Scouts totally got us and I am trying not to eat an entire box of Tagalongs in one sitting! XOXO

  6. That's a pretty complete list. I love everything on it!!! A pretty umbrella, reading a magazine in the sunshine, long walks outside, my pear blossom trees and tulips, lighter jackets, home tours and maybe even some al fresco dining.

Happy almost Spring. I'm excited to see what you're cooking up for tomorrow.

  7. I had to laugh a little Jeanne;) .. as we are (once again) looking forward to another grey, windy, rainy day here in Seattle. Yesterday one of my patients wore flip flops to the office! Now THAT'S the right attitude! Perhaps if we talk about sunshine and wear spring colors the sun will come out;) Think SPRING! xxL

    1. I know Leslie, the persistent rain did NOT make getting to my morning workout any easier this morning. But I'm happy to see a little blue sky now. One of my favorite spring items is a short yellow rain jacket from Tory Burch - chic, dry and sunny all at once. Perfect for soggy spring in Seattle! XOXO
