In Paris: The Art Of The Flower

To observe with an artist's eye was my one assignment while wandering the streets in Paris. The first thing that struck me? The flowers alone are worth the the trip.

From the artisan fleuristes to the the humblest flower stand, the blooms are displayed with a flourish and savior faire you just don't see anywhere else in the world.

Tulips, roses, hydrangeas, hyacinths dressed simply chic or in all their finery.

I think in my next life I'd like to come back as a flower girl in Paris. A contemporary sort of Eliza Doolittle. To spend each day among all this beauty? How lovely.

Happy Monday, all! Hope your week blooms beautifully! XOXO

  2. I too adore the Fleurist shops in Paris. I think everything they create has such artistry in mind.
Not your regular dial up flowers. You know what I speak of?

    1. I do, I do, PVE. Not your flowers of your 1-800 variety, definitely. There is certainly something to be learned from the Parisians about the importance of paying attention to detail.

      Happy Monday! XOXO

    1. Sandy, I've been looking back at my photos and wondering the same thing. Someone could probably write a book on the subject! I think it's very similar to why so many Parisian women are so chic - they ability to appear well-dressed but never overdone. Hope you have a terrific week, too! XO

  10. Hello, Im new to you!
Ihave always loved the flowers quote you use by Monet so I felt I should comment.........the displays are so so beautiful in Paris, just prettiness itself. I am a designer in my normal life, but I do a little event floristry here in the Uk and in Italy.....just to feed the creativity even more!! So your flowers are truly appreciated, thank you
I can completely identify with your move into the creative world, at school they wanted me to be a lawyer.....but Interior Design was my love ( and flowers too...of course!!)
Have a beautiful trip to Paris
