Rose Colored Glasses

"Everyday words seem to turn into love songs."  - La Vie En Rose

Happy Monday, all. And happy July. Such a great month! Six years ago today, Mr. H. and I tied the knot in Sun Valley. Six years seems impossible. Like it was yesterday and ages and ages ago all at the same time.

Our first dance was to the Louis Armstrong version of La Vie En Rose. At the time, I think I picked it out of optimism - for all of the rose-colored possibilities ahead of us.

A few years down the road, it seems an even better choice -certainly not because our lives together have always been rosy, but because with such a wonderful person by my side, even on the grayest days I can usually find the brightness somewhere.

And I'm still optimistic about what's ahead. And we're still dancing.

Happy Anniversary, Mr. H!

What was your first dance? Would you pick the same tune if you had it all to do over again?

  1. Awww, Happy Anniversary Jeanne! Funny but I haven't thought about our first dance in forever. We danced to a tune on the beach played by a cellist and violin. I would pick the song time and again and that vision.

  2. How sweet!! We played that song at my wedding too! But my first dance was Endless Love. I was 22 and it was a favorite. And I loved the lyrics and still do.....and God willing our love will be endless, so far 27 years and still going, woo hoo! Happy Anniversary. Wishing you many many more years of wedded bliss:)

  3. A very Happy Anniversary Jeanne and Mr H. Wishing you continued happiness and blessings
