A Blue and White Brunch Part Two

Hi all! How was the weekend? Ours was a lovely, three-day affair full of friends, food and a whole lot of fun. But I'm not too blue to be back to reality with a lovely sunny summer week ahead.

Shall we start Monday off on a blue note? As promised, here's another look at the Blue and White Brunch I hosted last month.

As much as the theme was blue and white (the guests even dressed in blue and white), the vision started with pink - peonies were giving up their last gorgeous blooms and I imagined a blue and white table spiked with pretty pink blossoms.

We started in the kitchen with coffee, tea, and a cocktail - La Rosette, which I spied on the This is Glamorous tumblr. Just St. Germain, Pink Champagne and a rim sprinkled with lavender sugar. A divine sip for a summer bash!

For brunch, we nibbled on croissants, Ina's blueberry scones, and Gwyneth's gluten-free banana date muffins (which actually weren't bad as a gluten free option).  A tomato-basil tart, sausage and limoncello fruit salad were a hit, as was "It's Never Too Early For Chocolate" coffee cake.

The most delicious part? Sitting around talking about just about everything under sun and enjoying the company of dear friends. A perfect way to celebrate a blue-sky day in June.

What's your favorite thing to serve at brunch?

    1. Michele, I put that photo with Betsy in it just for you! The link to the coffee cake recipe is embedded in the post - it's a Godiva recipe I found online. It was pretty simple to make (I'd never made a coffee cake before) and was pretty darn yummy!
Hope you have a wonderful week, too! XO

  12. Jeanne,
Your friends surely must feel very special to sit at such a chic blue and white brunch with such scrumptious bouquets and a feast for all the senses. Now do tell us about the lively conversation~ won't you?

For Brunch we love to serve a sort of Scandinavian smorgasbord of items, a variety of salads, herring, pickles, and lots to choose from or Salade Nicoise - or Salade Caprese during the summer.
    Rose Wine or something bubbly.

  15. Love knowing that your "blue and white" party was originally inspired by some pretty pink peonies!! :) I think I'll have to try La Rosette...as it combines some of my favorite things and the only thing better than sipping out of a champagne glass is sipping out of one rimmed with lavender sugar! My kind of party!!! I'm sure your friends are still talking about it!

    xoxo Elizabeth
