This Little Light

Hi everyone, I wanted to let you know that I'm going to be taking a few weeks away. My father is ill and in the hospital, and my mother needs some care, as well. My focus right now is being there for them and giving them all the support I can.

I'm feeling a shadow of sadness during what is one of the most bright and beautiful times of the year. My parents' health, and also the events last week in Connecticut, make me feel like the days are indeed dark right now as we near the longest night of the year.

And yet. I am determined to find my light. To be bright and live with love and gratitude for each little miracle. To bring hope and strength and comfort, and to lift the spirits of those around me.

And I send you all my best wishes for a bright holiday. Love your families. Celebrate all that is wonderful in life. Be joyful in togetherness.

I hope that I'll be able to chat with you soon again come the New Year.

With love, Jeanne

  6. What a good daughter you are. Your presence and positive outlook alone are going to do your dear parents a lot of good, you'll see. Safe travels, Jeanne. There is so much darkness around us these days, but there are specks of bright, warm light, too, and we must focus on those. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  9. Jeanne, I am so sorry to hear this. I also feel some darkness this holiday season after going through what we did in Munich and then hearing about that tragedy in CT. I hope the comforting your parents right now makes you feel a bit better. You will be in my thoughts!!!
