Lion Hunting In Paris

I know we spent a lot of time last week on safari in Africa... but it occurs to me that to track the world's great beasts, one doesn't have to be in the wilds of Botswana.  In Paris last spring, the lions seemed to follow wherever we went...

Welcoming or standing guard, some friendly, some frightening...

Can you imagine the sights they've seen in their years watching over the city? If only they could talk and share their secrets.

  1. What a clever not to mention beautiful post, Jeanne! And as I am a Leo, all of those gorgeous lions are just fine by me...

  3. what a neat post....in particular following your safari images. Have decided to celebrate my 40th birthday, coming up in March 2013, in Paris! Your Paris posts have been motivation to make that decision. Can't wait to go back...will be noticing lions on every corner now ha

  4. Oh Jennifer, I'm so glad you get to celebrate your birthday in Paris. Our trip this year was a bit of an early birthday present for me, and I can't think of a better place to kick off another year. Good for you! XO

  5. Bonjour Jeanne. What a clever post, and it ties wonderfully to your previous stories about Africa.
It seems several blogger friends had lions on their minds this week... Look at what my friend Owen posted yesterday (he spotted his in Italy, however!) THought you would enjoy this... http://magiclanternshowen.blogspot.com/2012/07/lionizing-lions.html

  8. Jeanne, the Parisian lions look fiercer than those in the jungle. I'm partial to lions since I'm also a Leo. One can only imagine what they've seen.

    Thanks for another lovely post!
