My Illustration
This collaboration between Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld artfully demonstrates the LBJ's endless versatility. Featuring over 100 black
and white photos of the iconic jacket styled to multitude of looks and
personalities, the book will be available August 15.

Those of you in New York can see the exhibit at 18 Wooster St. through June 15.

Or see a video of the making of a classic here.

Don't you think that everyone needs a little black jacket in their closet? And it doesn't have to be Chanel. As long as it's the perfect fit for you and for your personality, whether it be tweed or leather, it's tops for giving pretty much anything - from a ball skirt to blue jeans - that little bit of polish.
What's the go-to classic in your closet?

Love it! I do have a little black jacket that I have had for years (almost decades) and its definitely a go to item. LOVE your illustration, you are seriously talented!
ReplyDeleteLittle black jacket and pearls are a must. I can't imagine having a Chanel jacket, but I would love to have one. Thrift store maybe? Doubt it.
ReplyDeleteYour drawing is amazing, Jeanne.
Happy Tuesday.

Your illustration is beautiful and yes I too would love a real Chanel jacket although there are a few tweed summery versions around which I have my eye on. I think I saw a pastel one in Zara.

Love your beautiful illustration, I dream of being able to draw like that. Alas my talents are elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteCould not agree more, a black jacket takes ou any and everywhere.
Have a great day, Elizabeth
Hmm...I have many black jackets--I lived in NYC for a long time, how could I not? I still love and wear my favorites--an extremely simple Prada and a Yamamoto with tails (alas, those were better times!) because they never go out of style and immediately make me feel pulled together. So they would definitely be go to items as is my Missoni cardigan (bought for $18 at a San Diego thrift store), my Burberry trench and my Max Mara camel coat.
ReplyDeleteAs always, I love your drawing!
I am looking for one of this too!! it's so elegant :D

A chic kiss ;)
I do have a little black jacket, but somehow I can't seem to carry it quite the way all of those fashionable people do! :) I do have a weakness for jackets though - many of which may not be so suitable for Seattle's wet climate since I bought several of them in Munich's snow! I'll work something out on that front. :)
ReplyDeleteI did not know about this book!!! I will definitely be ordering it. I had a wonderful St John black suit that I wore and wore. I have dreamed of having one perfect Chanel jacket and keep my eye out. This just put that to the top of my wish list.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had known about the exhibit...I don't think I can get there in time.
Love your illustration. That + the Book would make an amazing gift for someone!!!
