"A day without sunshine is like, you know, night." -- Steve Martin

My dears, I have no excuse for my lack of a post today other than that we've been enjoying the most lovely stretch of weather in Seattle. This may not seem like a big deal, but if you've ever lived in the Pacific Northwest you know that this may be all we get until after the Fourth of July. So I've been soaking up every possible moment -- I'm like a kid who wants to play outside until the last bit of light fades, pretending she doesn't hear her mother calling her in for dinner!

Whether the skies are clear or filled with clouds where you are, I hope your days are brilliantly bright this week! XO
Love your illustrations, Jeanne. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weather, and we will see you when the clouds take over.
Happy Wednesday.

Wait a minute - this might be the final stretch until the 4th? I thought this was the kickoff of Summer around here. :) I'm definitely noticing the weather difference here vs. Portland - and I thought I loved the rain! We'll see...and I'll just keep working on making our interiors cozier. :) Glad you are enjoying the sun Jeanne - those sunshines are adorable!
ReplyDeleteJeanne, don't say it [even if it's true!] The sun MUST shine again before July 4th! Just to be on the safe side, I will fly to Europe mid-June (returning on July 5th!) so I know I will get some rays no matter what! :-) Seriously, though, how lovely to enjoy this gorgeous weather the last few days... What a special treat this has been, having dinner outside, enjoying balmy evenings. Love your illustrations. I can go back to them when the rain returns... Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteBarbara and Veronique, let's hope that we're in for a long stretch of sunny days and none of the "June Gloom" this year -- although I think that Veronique has the right idea with heading for Europe next month! Growing up here, my motto is never waste a sunny day! Hope you both get to enjoy more of it today. XO
ReplyDeletehave been humming that oldie song...."sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, everything that's wonderful" ever since reading your post this morning
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the sunshine!
Good for you!!! Enjoy the sunshine and get your dose of Vitamin D!.....it does the spirit good!... the computer will be awaiting your return. :)
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful illustrations are always a treat....so you never need to feel like you're letting us down on a post. You could just post your drawings and we'd be enthralled.
ReplyDeleteSo happy the sun is shining in Seattle. Get outside and soak it up!!!
xoxo Elizabeth
Jeanne, I just visited the Jean Cocteau museum in Menton--your first drawing makes me think of him!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the heads up about my not showing up--much appreciated! Hoping that the sun lasts and lasts and lasts...
The sun is finally coming out after two days of pouring rain here... and we're stuck in a photo studio shooting our fall/winter catalogue :( Hope the sun shines during our visit in June!

Jeanne- You are such a talented artist! I was just in Portland, Oregon and enjoyed all my days - Sunny or Rainy. (The rain makes that gorgeous moss all over!)
