Paris: One City, So Many Possibilities

Happy Monday, all! I hope you'll pardon me, I'm rushing around today trying to get ready to skip away to Paris - so a quick post and I'm off to pack.

I do love the adventure of discovering new places, but I have to say there is something about revisiting a favorite city again and again. It can be as comforting and reassuring as catching up with an old friend you haven't seen in ages and picking up right where you left off. Or as thrilling as when you discover something new about the man you've loved for years.

A friend and I were just emailing about how many different Paris trips there are...

Romantic Paris, mais bien sur

The girls' trip...

Solitary Paris...

The shopping trip...

The sightseeing trip....

Glamorous Paris...

Relaxed Paris.... I think our trip this time will look a lot the one these ladies are enjoying. No agenda. Just kick back and take the days as they come. What I've been telling people is that I want the equivalent of a week at some resort, just hanging by the pool, but in Paris.

Time to linger over coffee...

To meet up for drinks with friends...

To get out for a walk...

To simply float away on the bubble of happiness that Paris tends to inspire in me!

So tell me, what kind of escape appeals most to you right now - an adventure of discovery or revisiting a favorite haunt? Where would you go? And what would you like your dream vacation to be all about?

A la prochaine. Hope your days are wonderful wherever the week takes you. XO

  2. These are so many of my favorite photos all in one spot! Have a wonderful, wonderful time--I know that you will!! I LOVE that you don't have an agenda, that is very glamorous. Do you know the website My Little Paris (the illustrations are so wonderful too)--they have great addresses like this interesting Cambodian restaurant in the 6th:

PS. You don't need me to remind you to bring rain-friendly shoes but just in case. :)

  3. Lucky you Jeanne I wish I was busy packing to jet off to a far off land. If I could it would be a shopping trip to Italy but I would take Paris in a nanosecond! Enjoy your packing!

  6. I think the great thing about going back to one place again and again (especially a city where there are so many sides to that one place) is that you can either focus on something special like you said, or release the guilt of not doing more and just take it as it comes since you have done the big sights already! I am so jealous Jeanne - have a fantastic time and I look forward to hearing about it - and seeing your sketches! - when you return. :)

  7. Have the most wonderful time!! I wish that I could return now that I've checked off all the typical things one does in Paris. I think wandering and lingering is just the best.

I really have Florence on my mind and keep dreaming of making that trip a reality.

Domestically though, I have been focused on Blackberry Farm. Their whole concept is something I embrace, so it's on my short list, too!!

Can't wait to hear all about your trip!

  8. At this point, anything that takes me away from the computer and embraces me with soft breezes, great food and a little sightseeing would meet my needs just fine. So wish I could join you!
