Hi all, how's the week? Busy? Me, too. Late nights catching up with old friends and early mornings crossing off old "to-dos"-- not too much time to stop and smell the roses. Or hang out in blogland. But I just had to share, if you hadn't seen already, the incredible beauty that unfolded at the Alexander McQueen show this week.

The incredibly talented Sarah Burton said that her show celebrated
"a beautiful future, positivity, optimism." It started out with narrow shapes--"pods" as described in
Style.com's lovely review--which, as the show progressed, bloomed into florals that graduated from white into the most arresting rose-color shades.

"I pushed myself more," Burton said of her design process.
"It has to move forward."
Lovely, rosy thoughts. A beautiful show of talent, imagination, optimism, and stepping forward.
I can smell the roses blooming from here.
Absolutely breathtaking! I am always drawn to anything that is soft, flowery, petal-y, inspired by nature and flowers...and these are just over the top beautiful. Hope alls well......have a wonderful day!

Totally with you Jeanne, this was my favorite show in a very long time. Just pure brilliance, à la McQueen but absolutely completely her own. Unforgettable!
ReplyDeleteI love that you are keeping up with old friends--something that I have not done in some time, much to my regret.
Bisous,
Heather
