Homemade Love

I think that one of the reasons I love Valentine's Day so much is that it brings back childhood memories of cutting and pasting and glittering and making cards for my friends and family. Construction paper cutouts. Hearts made from doilies.  Tempera paint and sparkles. Making something special for someone special.

 My Illustration

My materials and media may have changed, but homemade Valentines are still one of my favorite February 14th traditions. The giraffes above were created specially for Mr. H, inspired by some of his photography from our Honeymoon Safari in Namibia and Botswana.

Happy Valentine's Day, Mr. H! And wishing all of you a Happy St. Valentine's, too -- I'm sending virtual glitter and doily hearts your way. XOXO

  7. I can almost smell the glue and construction paper, feeling my chubby hands try to work the safety scissors!
