Very Entertaining

Hi all! How are you? I didn't mean to completely disappear but got caught up in a very entertaining week - with lots of halls to deck and parties to plan and attend.  Oh what fun, indeed!

I was fortunate enough to co-host our annual holiday book club dinner and gift exchange with my friend Dana.

Dana looks like Julianne Moore, has the grace of Jacqueline Kennedy, and the decorating and entertaining skills of Martha Stewart. Who better to plan a party with?

The evening took place at Dana's lovely home, which she had beautifully decorated for the holidays.

Admittedly, we didn't talk much about the book (The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society), but between a divine chocolate tasting from Marie and Freres and a spirited gift swap (I gave The Perfectly Imperfect Home and a coordinated set of Iomoi pencils) we sure had a lot of fun!

It was the perfect opportunity to break out some newly found Red Willow Ware dessert plates...

...And the perfect excuse to pick up these red toile plates from Fishs Eddy -- they coordinated perfectly with special Libeco napkins from Red Ticking.

Handmade gift tags served as place cards...

A little more red and white on the table top added to the festive feel...

And our friends decked themselves out with a pop of holiday color, too!

It was a glittering evening that celebrated good books, great friends and how lucky we are share them.

  5. This sounds like the perfect pre-Holidays evening: Good friends, good books, good food, all meeting in a lovely home. From the looks of it, one of your friends has already been visited by Santa-- and he was generous to her. Love the red Chanel handbag ;-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

And to all of you blogger friends of Jeanne's, you should hire her to do nametags for your dinner parties! They are amazing. It was the perfect night and final party at our house before we move to the next nest!! xo
