Mad For Invitations

One of my favorite parts of planning a party is creating the invitation. So I was thrilled to have the chance to design the invite for my friend's upcoming Mad Men-themed bash.

I started with a little early 60s chic...

Added a little René Gruau...

And voilà! The illustration...

I knew I wanted to pull in a cocktail theme... So decided to mix in a cocktail shaker...

...Created some tags for them with another little illustration, attaching them with some coral and white twine.

For the cards, I placed the illustration on a coral backer on top of lime green stock and chose navy font for the inner message.

And there you have it! I gave the hostess the original illustration, and sent the rest of them on their merry way... And I'm now I think I'm ready for a cocktail!

What's your favorite part of planning a party?

  13. Visiting from Happy Homemaker UK. I don't think that I have ever planned a party. I mean one that didn't involve telling people a couple of hours ahead of time.
