Just A Little Lanvin

It's no secret that I'm a sucker for a little Lanvin. My friends Laurie and Heidi can attest that I may lose the tiniest bit of perspective when faced with a vintage Lanvin scarf or coat at a Paris street market or the Bastille Antiques Fair (thanks ladies for being so generous with the treasures and finds, I owe you!)

Fortunately there's no way I'd fit in to latest creations from Alber Elbaz -- Petite Lanvin! Although I could possibly get in a tug-of-war with this sweet little miss over her specially designed doll -- one of four that accompany the collection, with part of the proceeds going to support children's charity Designing Hope.

The capsule collection consists of 25 pieces for girls ages five to ten, including dresses, coats and little ballet flats with plenty of tulle and grosgrain ribbon, just like Mr. Elbaz's collection for grown up ladies.

I can think of a few of my younger friends who would look absolutely adorable in one of these confections. (You know who you are!)

It's fitting that Lanvin would launch a kids' wear line, as children's apparel was the house's first department, established in 1908, and Jeanne Lanvin was inspired by her daughter, Marguerite. "Her unconditional love for her daughter fired her creativity," the Lanvin site says.

The collection hits Lanvin boutiques in November...anyone want to go on a shopping spree with Auntie Jeanne?

A girls' trip to New York? We could stay at the Plaza like Eloise.... and maybe your mommies would like to come along, too! Who's with me?
