Up At The Vicarage

Perhaps it's due to the impending Royal nuptials, but suddenly I'm struck with the urge to decamp to the English countryside for the summer.

This former Vicarage, built in 1774, is currently available. Doesn't the idea of residing in a Vicarage sound like something out of a Jane Austen novel? It makes me want to wander through the hedgerows and drink tea.

Looks like the perfect blend of vintage charm and modern amenities to me.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to pick out some floral chintz--I'm suddenly overcome by the impulse to slipcover all the furniture.

Where do you fancy spending the summer months? And if you could live in a novel, which one would you choose?

  2. I've had the same urge to visit England too now! Definitely a case of "royal wedding" fever!

  3. I want to live in the house in the movie Atonement. THAT makes me think of the English countryside in the summer.

  4. Oh, let's escape to London for the big event! And, then a respite in the English countryside.

I think I'd love to spend the summer along the French Riveria.....so any book set there would be perfect!

  5. Love the charming vicarage as well - especially as I've been thinking about the next episodes of Downton Abbey lately, I'm sure inspired by all the royal wedding talk!!
