Seattle's spring has been a bit soggy and unpredictable so far, but like this sweet little mite, I'm not going to let a few puddles get in my way.

The cherry blossoms, magnolias, camellias and daffodils are too beautiful to miss, and getting a bit wet is well worth it for a little playtime outdoors. Although I'm afraid I'm not nearly as cute in my rain gear as this little one.
Maybe I need a pair of these:
What about you? Are you game for singing in the rain and splashing in puddles? Or would you rather stick to the great indoors until the sun comes out?
Happy Friday, friends! What are you up to this weekend? If you are in Seattle and looking for something to do, may I recommend a trip to SAM for the Nick Cave "Meet Me at the Center of the Earth" exhibit?
Mr. H. and I went a couple weeks ago and loved it. Mr. Cave's Sound Suits, wearable fabric and found-object suits, are utterly delightful--Dr. Seuss meets Sesame Street meets Where The Wild Things Are meets Couture. They're also thought provoking, bringing up themes of beauty vs. ugly, treasure vs. garbage, stranger vs. familiar. But mostly, in my eyes, the suits are fun and playful.
They put in an appearance in the September 2010 issue of Vogue, and when you look closely at the fabrication and craftsmanship, it's no surprise that Mr. Cave is the director of the graduate fashion program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

In fact, it seems to be a pretty short leap between Mr.Cave's whimsical Sound Suits and what we're currently seeing on the runways and the street.

I think even some of my youngest friends would love this exhibit if their moms have time to take them to SAM. Penelope, Bobby, Sophia, Lane and Cole, let me know which suit is your favorite! (I'm fond of the furry ones, myself!)
I love the the "Tory Entertains" posts on the Tory Burch blog. Wouldn't you love to be invited to this spring break lobster luncheon?

Blue and white and lobster are a few of my favorite things, so found Tory's invitation especially inspiring. I have a couple lobster feasts on the horizon... I owe my friend Pam a lobster pot pie, and have a "crazy lobster night" summer tradition with some dear friends. So what would my spin be on this lobster fest?
I would start with my favorite vintage blue and white plates.

Add some relaxed blue linens... and maybe some white flowers...

Or perhaps a pretty pop of pink! An outdoor setting is a must, so we'll hope for warm weather and sunshine.

Or this relaxed hostess dress would be perfect!
Of course, it's the friends around the table that make the meal special. Who wants to join me for lunch?
