Wearing Sunshine

My friend Kendall recently scored the loveliest Oscar dress...

Such a great find. Paired with some strappy sandals it will attend many a wedding or cocktail party. Throw on a navy or gray cashmere cardigan, add just the right shoe and we'll be seeing it at work. I'm thinking these would be perfect:

So pretty! It makes me want to wear something the color of sunshine! There sure are plenty of choices this season...

But I have to admit, I'm a little shy of yellow and under the impression that it's not just not my best color. So instead of doing a full yellow frock, I think I'll start with just a splash -- like this petite yellow bag clutched by Vogue's Meredith Melling Burke.

I think I could easily fall for this gorgeous Kotur clutch...

Or this sunny Dannijo cuff would be a nice break from the winter grays...

Or if I get a true case of yellow fever, maybe I'll take inspiration from Giovanna and sport a bigger splash of yellow...

A pencil-yellow pencil skirt like this one from Lanvin, perhaps?

What about you? Do the winter blues have you craving the bright shades of summer? Would you make a big splash with a lot, or look for just a little pop of this sunny shade?

  1. Gorgeous. I am in a wedding in June and we are wearing bright yellow dresses. I was hesitant at first--but this is inspiring me! : ) Coincidentally enough, the shoes are tiffany blue!

  2. LOVE your taste - adore every single one of these images. Yellow is not a good color for me either unfortunately - although I can wear its mustardy cousin it doesn't quite give the same pop. Love the shoes you paired with (your lovely drawing of) the Oscar. Saw that Kors show on the runway - was a great one. And am currently obsessed with Giambattista Valli - I want one of his pre-fall tux suits! SO much to love here!

  3. Always coveted a Tiffany Canary yellow diamond.
Just the thing to add a little sunshine to my day - any time of year.

  4. Yellow is such a fun color. Too bad for me it dosent complement my complexion.
