Wrapping it up

Christmas shopping done? Check. Cards out the door...um, getting there. Gifts wrapped and settled beneath the tree? Not so much.

Every year I dream of wrapping my gifts a few at a time and sliding them under the tree early in the season so that we can admire them and their stylish trimmings as part of our holiday decor.

It's good to have dreams. But the reality is that one of my Christmas traditions is the harried last-minute wrapping of gift after gift, often moments before they are exchanged with friends and family. Sometimes even after Christmas has passed!

Someday, I'll get it right. But it looks like it's going to be another one of those years when it feels like the tape, the boxes, the paper, the scissors and the bows are all conspiring against me. So I just add glass of champagne or two to the process and remind myself it's part of the fun.

What about you? Are you a last-minute wrapper or do you get a jump on it so that you can enjoy pretty ribbons and bows beneath the tree?

Last-minute or super-organized, I hope that you manage to have fun in the process--that glass of champagne really helps!

Have a merry week before Christmas, everyone! Good luck and fun wishes as  you get it all wrapped up!
