Some possible new looks for our Oly chair.
When we moved into our home almost almost three years ago, we remodeled, but waited to furnish it. But, finally, we are gearing up for that project. My friend and extremely talented interior designer, Dana, came over last week to measure and brainstorm and try out a few fabric samples. Fun! I'm most excited to give our "great room" an overhaul--the kitchen that opens to a casual seating area with French doors out to our porch and back yard, it's the heartbeat of the house, and I really want it to reflect the way Will and I live.
Anna's house
I've been collecting images for well over a year, but a few really stand out as inspiration points--Anna Wintour's Bellmont, Long Island, retreat that recently landed in World of Interiors and Amanda Peet's lovely laid back home--an old favorite from dear departed Domino.
I love and plan to emulate the warn color palette in Amanda Peet's sitting room.
Even the living room of Amanda Peet's home is relaxed and comfortable.
We're adding a few pieces to the living room, as well. We're thinking about getting this vintage Louis reproduction settee.
Love the cute little legs!
I'm picturing a long bolster pillow made from vintage linens from Pam Robinson's Red Ticking. The planning and inspiration phase is fun--but I'm so ready to have it all come together. Let me know if you have any tips, and I'll keep you posted on our progress!

oooh, the painting of the settee is almost better than the real thing!! lovely!
ReplyDeleteoh, forgot to add: you asked for tips- buy the $&*%&! settee already! :)
ReplyDeletePULL THE TRIGGER!!!... and the pillow will come!! he he
ReplyDeleteIf it's still there when we get back, I'm all over it!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of all white with dark floors and accents or pops of color.
ReplyDeleteAre the watercolors yours? They look wonderful. show us your room as it progresses!
